This was a CQUIN in 2016 to 2018. This was developed to reduce restrictive practices, whilst improving service users experiences and maintaining a safe environment. Within Yorkshire and Humber we started to look at this through a project group during 2015/16 as it was flagged as an important area, and continue to meet annually around this topic despite the CQUIN having now finished, as services are keen to continue to share best practice and learning and keep a critical eye on this topic. This looked at restrictive practices and blanket rules as well as restrictive interventions. The impact of these changes are to improve staff and service user experiences and would make the wards safer.
