This was a CQUIN in 2016/17 and was called Collaborative Risk Assessment. The services developed ways to train service users and staff around collaborative risk assessments in general and the importance of risk assessment. They also then worked with service users around risk assessment and management to give them a better understanding of their own risks to be able to address these and move forward in their pathway. There was an emphasis on promoting positive risk taking, and that service users take ownership and responsibility for managing their own risks. These standards are a way to keep these principles and standards live and reviewed regularly alongside service governance structures and internal processes to do the same.
