Hi everyone, my name is Julianne
I’ve been with the Involvement Network team now for just over 6 weeks so I thought it was about time I officially introduced myself and told you all a little about me!

But this is the version where I’m saying hello not goodbye!

Hi everyone, my name is Julianne

I’ve been with the Involvement Network team now for just over 6 weeks so I thought it was about time I officially introduced myself and told you all a little about me!

Some of you may have seen me around either on teams or in person at workshops, meetings and events held by the Y&H Network, which I attended with my previous team, Waterloo Manor. I worked there for just short of 5 years and found my passion for service user involvement and discovered the great work the network do in my latest role at Waterloo as Involvement Lead. My background is working with women, empowering service users to have a voice and be the voice that drives service improvement and changes our perspective on ‘recovery’. I am a strong believer that people should lead their own recovery and it should be fun along the way! Supporting service users with planning their own events was a highlight of my previous role and in particular, being able to involve the women’s family and carers in such events and everyone be part of this journey together was really humbling. This influenced my progression into my current role as Carer Experience and Engagement Coordinator, where I hope to ensure services are doing all they can to involve carers!

My focus will be on West Yorkshire services, who I have already started having conversations with about the work they are currently doing with carers and exploring how I can support them to improve this and grow engagement.

To end on a more personal note, I love dogs and have two; Lola and Honey- often referred to as little and large (see pic below). I like to keep active and enjoy walking and swimming. I enjoy travel and adventuring, nature, fast cars and all things glam!

I love music and have it playing most of the day while working from home, however ABBA is not at the top of my playlist… I have just spent the bank holiday on a Butlins Weekender dressed in a shell suit so I’m still a bit stuck in the 70s/80s!

I look forward to meeting you all soon,

Julianne
