Here is our second submission – have a look and see how Spencer Ward at Cygnet Sheffield Spencer Ward – Cygnet Hospital Sheffield (cygnethealth.co.uk) have celebrated Pride 2021!
We used our activity facilities to create all the party décor including a 3D cardboard rainbow, which we then made into a Photo booth area, we created a Polaroid photo frame and lots of Pride props for patients to use. This was a great success. We also did rainbow face-painting including rainbow blended eye shadows!!!
We rainbow-ed the whole communal area in DIY rainbows created by patients. We provided a rainbow of pizzas and everyone had a pack of swizzels ‘secretly vegan’ rainbow drops. The highlight of our party was ‘Electric Blue’ Drag Queen, who came and did us an amazing show, that included patient participation. Patients and staff all participated with the fabulous ‘Electric Blue’, she then joined our photo booth for a fun photoshoot that patients all enjoyed. We are committed to this as an annual event, bouncing back, bigger and better as Alan Partridge would say LOL.
